About the site

iPilot777.com was created back in 2005 with an intention to display my Aviation photography collection. The funny thing being, it was never possible until early 2009 since there was no network of spotters in and around my local airport, no decent spotting locations could be found and for various other reasons. However, things have changed a lot in the past few years and Spotting in some of the Airports in India is a reality now. With this good news, this site is sure to host a good number of Aviation Photos taken in India and especially Bangalore (BLR / VOBL), Mumbai (BOM / VABB) and Delhi (DEL / VIDP). All the photos on this site are taken by me unless mentioned otherwise. Enjoy your visit and do come back again as this site will be updated with more photos.

About me

I am a student in Aviation with a dream of flying from the left seat in a Boeing 777-300ER cockpit, someday! I am now crossing all the hurdles one by one to reach my goal. I have always been interested in Airplanes. As I grew older, my interest became a passion and after my first solo flight in a Cessna 152, my passion for Aviation became a “disease”, as Aviators refer to the profession! So, there's no turning back for me after this! I've been a regular visitor at Airliners.net since 2002 and that is how my interest for spotting grew! As of now I have only got the opportunity of taking photos in BLR, DEL and BOM. I am looking forward to travel to different cities across India and eventually to some nice locations all over the world with HKT, HKG, KIX, MAD, FNC and SXM topping the list!

My gear

I've been a Nikon fan since childhood and got myself the Nikon D50 just months after it was launched, in August 2005. I use it with the Nikkor AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G, Nikkor AF 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6 G and the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro. For night photography I have the Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with a Manfrotto 496RC2 head. I use a 2GB Kingston SD card and I carry another 1GB Kingston SD card with me on all spotting trips. Though the 2GB has almost always provided enough memory (except while shooting in RAW) even for a day long spotting here in India. The camera, lenses and other accessories goes into my Lowepro Nova 190 AW shoulder bag.
